Dell Latitude C400

Dell Latitude C400

The Latitude C400 is a 12.1" business subnotebook that was released in November 2001. This laptop is a strange mix of C-Series features (Charger, PIII, BIOS, purple trackpoint) and D-Series features (design), making it rather unique. The C400 was the final member of the Latitude C-Series to be discontinued, being sold up until sometime around late April 2004.

CMOS Battery Leaks

The Varta NiMH CMOS battery in the C400 is highly prone to leaking and should be removed from every single C400 if original. The battery is on the right side of the computer, next to the heatsink. As it is placed directly next to the motherboard, even a small leak will be catastrophic.
