Common Faults & Maintenance

CMOS Battery Leaks

The Varta NiMH CMOS battery in the C600 is highly prone to leaking and should be removed from every single C600 if original. The battery is under the RAM door on the bottom of the laptop. As it is placed directly over the motherboard, even a small leak will be catastrophic.

Lid Latch Failure

The LCD lid latch mechanism on the C600 wears out easily and often stops working.
