The Latitude 400M Series were 486-based laptops, released in 1994 as a lower-tier alternative to the Latitude XP. From photos, these share the same or similar design to the later Latitude LX, meaning that these were also made by Quanta. I'll bet that under the hood, some configs are identical or similar to the AST Ascentia 800N.
