Like other Inspiron laptops that are Latitude clones, the 2100's dock connector may be locked out by the BIOS. The connector is present, but the BIOS will prevent docks from working. In other such Inspirons, the Latitude BIOS can be flashed to enable dock support. The same may or may not be possible on the Inspiron 2100.
