CTX International, officially Chuntex Electronic Co., is a company mostly known for their monitors. However, they did dabble a bit in PC manufacturing during the 1990s, during which they sold the EzBook and EzNote lines of laptop computers, as well as some desktops. This page documents information on these laptops.
CTX began laptop manufacturing after acquiring Veridata, an already established manufacturer. So yes, they didn't just badge an ODM's laptops, they made their own! Their laptops had a small share of success for a good few years, but it ended up backfiring horribly by 1999, when they reported massive losses, largely blamed on their laptop division, causing them to go bankrupt. They managed to make it out, but completely left the computer business as a result.
One thing you'll notice as you look through the list below is that their model schemes were insanely obtuse and confusing. It took a long while before I was able to understand it enough to actually document them properly. As well as that, information on models prior to the 700 Series is somewhat limited, as CTX failed to document them to any extent on their (multiple) websites.

If you see a reference online to a supposed CTX laptop called the "CyberNote" or the "CyberNote 953", know that no such model technically exists. The CyberNote 953 is actually the name of the generic version of the EzBook 700 and 700M from Veridata. You can see MacDat's pages on the Veridata CyberNote 953 here.
I've seen CTX EzBook laptops spelled like: EZBook, EzBook, and even EzBOOK, depending on where you look. It seems even they didn't have one definitive way to capitalize it. I've just decided on EzBook for the purposes of this site.
