Common Faults & Maintenance

PRAM Battery Leaks

The 1/2AA Lithium PRAM battery in the IIvi is very prone to leaking and should be removed. It does not need to be replaced on this model for the computer to operate.

Bad Capacitors

The electrolytic capacitors on the motherboard and CD-ROM drive in the IIvi leak 100% of the time and must be replaced for the computer to work reliably. The power supply also often needs to be recapped.
