The Z-Noteflex is a highly modular 486-based laptop released by Zenith Data Systems in 1994. Nearly every part was modular and upgradeable - the CPU, RAM, Hard Drive, LCD, Battery, CMOS Battery, and the floppy drive could all be easily replaced or upgraded. Of course, it also had built-in PCMCIA slots and featured advanced docking capabilities, with the dock featuring a built-in CD-ROM drive, stereo speakers, two Type III PCMCIA slots, and an internal power supply. The LCD assembly could be removed and placed in an external dock for presentations. The Z-Noteflex also had internal sound.
Zenith eventually released an updated version known as the Z-Noteflex P, which had an Intel Pentium processor clocked at 75MHz.
