The Veridata Cybernote 953 is a generic/ODM laptop, produced starting in 1996. They are based on Pentium/Pentium MMX processors.
Veridata at this time was owned by CTX International. The vast majority of CyberNote 953s as such are those that were sold by CTX as the EzBook 700 and the EzBook 700M. Even Veridata's website calls it the EzBook 700 in many places.
However, some generic units were sold, and I've also seen one branded by some company called "Lap Power".
If you have one of these, all info for the CTX models applies. See those pages that I linked earlier for info on common faults, and links to drivers. If you have a CyberNote with a non-MMX Pentium, see the EzBook 700 pages. If yours has a Pentium MMX, see the EzBook 700M pages.
There was also a CyberNote 953e (not archived) and 953g, which both appear to be the generic versions of the EzBook 700E and 700G respectively, but I've never seen either of these sold as generic.
These were taken from a capture of Veridata's website, here. Specs not listed on that page are filled in from the EzBook 700 specs, they should be about the same.
Here are some photos of a generic CyberNote. Click on any image to view the full-size version of it.
