All Toshiba laptops from this era have two internal VARTA NiMH batteries, a CMOS battery and a suspend/hibernation battery. Both of these batteries are HIGHLY prone to leaking and MUST come out of the laptop, or else it will end up dead and full of corrosion one day. Remove them ASAP.
