The MiTAC 5033 is a Socket 7 (Pentium MMX/AMD K6-2)-based generic/ODM laptop that was released in early 1998. The 5033 went through several minor hardware revisions and was sold by a large number of different companies. Here's a list of laptops that were MiTAC 5033s and companies that sold them:
The 5033 uses standard Socket 7 CPUs. The early revision 5033s only support Intel CPUs, with later ones being able to support Intel and AMD:
Your 5033's revision should be printed on a label under the battery.
CPU switch settings are listed on Page 25 of the service manual (see resources section below). Note that it only lists up to 266MHz on supported AMD processors - K6-2s at up to 400MHz are supported, so if you have a 5033 with a chip faster than 266MHz, please email me with the switch settings.
