IBM ThinkPad Power Series 820

The ThinkPad Power Series 820 is a PowerPC 603-based laptop that was released in July 1995. It released alongside the Power Series 850, which was the top of the line model. It shares most of the 850's specs, but the G10 Motion Video graphics package was optional (it was standard on the 850), it did not support the 850's CCD camera module, had a lower RAM ceiling, and the case design was a little different.

The 820 shipped with either the PowerPC version of Windows NT, IBM's AIX operating system, or none at all. As you may imagine, these were expensive portables. The starting price was $5,699, and top-end configurations reached $8,799.
