The plastic used on the ThinkPad 510cs has become very brittle with age, and the plastic around the hinges will crack over time. If you have one of these then you'll need to reinforce the hinge mounts with some sort of epoxy.
The LCD on the 510cs can develop Vinegar Syndrome.
