IBM PS/2 Note N33 SX

The IBM PS/2 Note N33 SX is a 386-based laptop that was released in June 1991. It was the first laptop in the PS/2 Note line, and the first notebook computer marketed by IBM in the United States. Unlike later models in the PS/2 Note series, the N33 SX is based on the ISA Bus, not Microchannel.

The 12MHz and 16MHz versions look near identical from the outside, but are constructed completely differently internally. The 12MHz version is based on the original Japanese PS/55 note model, while the 16MHz version is based on the PS/55 note N23 SX. The 12MHz version lacks space for both a floppy and hard drive internally, so models with a hard drive do not have an internal floppy drive. The 12MHz version also lacks a video output.
