Common Faults & Maintenance

CMOS Battery Leaks

The Varta NiMH CMOS battery in the M50 is extremely prone to leaking and should be removed from every unit. It is located under the palmrest, and while not close to the motherboard, it will corrode the ribbon cable for the trackpad if it leaks.
