The Latitude CPt lineup are Celeron-powered budget business laptops, released in 1999 and updated and sold through 2001. There were three sub-series, shown below in the table. The CPt-C was based on the CPi-R, the CPt-V was based on the CPx-H, and the CPt-S was based on the CPx-J.

CMOS Battery Leaks

The CPt's CMOS Battery is a 6-cell VARTA NiMH pack, located under the palmrest. This type of battery leaks nearly 100% of the time, and will easily cause damage to surrounding components if left unchecked.
