Common Faults & Maintenance

CMOS Battery Leaks

The Varta NiMH CMOS battery in the C510 is highly prone to leaking and should be removed from every single C510 if original. The battery is under the keyboard and placed directly over the motherboard, which means even a small leak can be catastrophic.

Lid Latch Failure

The LCD lid latch mechanism on the C510 wears out easily and often stops working.
