Compal TS30G

Compal TS30G

The Compal TS30G is a Pentium-based laptop that was released in 1996, with revisions being made through 1997.

As a generic/ODM laptop, the TS30G was sold under a variety of names. Below is the current list of brands known to have sold them.

The Latitude LM sold very well and is extremely common on the used market today. As such, the TS30G is by far the most common 90s-era Compal laptop.

There were several revisions of the TS30G, including the TS30GS, TS30GI, TS30GH, and TS30GA. I currently do not know what the differences between these revisions are. The number of different model numbers may suggest that Compal gave a new model number to each design revision, but this at least sometimes does not hold true. The HiNote VP is modified in several ways, including having both a floppy and CD-ROM drive built-in at once, while other TS30Gs used a modular bay. Despite this, it is still just a TS30G, no other letters. And yes, Latitude LMs with the more standard TS30G design also are badged as TS30Gs, though some revisions of the LM have other model numbers (mine is a TS30GI).
