The Chicony MP996 is a Pentium II-based rather compact laptop. The MP993 uses the same design, but uses Intel Socket 370 Celeron CPUs, where this one uses Socket 615 Pentium II "Dixon" CPUs. The MP996 is a fairly rare laptop. I currently don't know of anyone who sold it. I'm sure at least SOMEONE did, I just haven't run across them yet.
