Today, on April 1st, 2022, MacDat has launched on a domain for the first time. It took a lot to get the site to this point, and I'd like to explain some things here.
Developement of the site began in September of 2021 with the goal of providing a better all-in-one source for information on vintage macintosh computers. Over half a year later, the site has finally reached the point of being ready for launch.
For a few months, my friend Droid helped out on the site's PC Portal, but he has since lost interest and stopped developing it. I don't have the time to work on both sections at once, so for the time being, that part of the site is going to be left in limbo.
My plan is to return to it once the Macintosh Portal is finished, but that won't be for some time.
I will also be working on a section on other retro computers after the Mac Portal is finished.
Launching MacDat in the state it is in right now would not have been possible without the support of the 68kMLA forums. Thank you to all the members who contributed images, information, and most important of all, feedback. None of this would have been possible without you.
If you encounter any problems (or if you have any feedback to give), please report it either on MacDat's announcement thread on 68kMLA, or on the comments section of whatever my latest YouTube video is.
Check this page out for more information on our launch date.
