IBM PC/AT 5170
A neighbor had this 5170 stashed in his garage and offered it up to me. If I remember right, he had gotten it from a coworker, who had clearly also stored it in their garage, or maybe a very damp basement. This thing is rough, very rusty, and very dead. The Lithium Thionyl Chloride CMOS battery puked on the board, but that didn't actually cause much damage. I could probably get the board going again with some repairs to the damaged area (needs a new crystal and one chip replaced), and it probably also will need the tantalum caps changed. The original power supply and the floppy drive, both rusty, somehow work. The Rodime hard drive was dead, to no one's surprise. The real work is going to be restoring the case - it needs to be fully sanded and repainted. I will get to this restoration at some point, but not likely anytime soon.
