FAQ
How does the search engine work? What is an ODM?
The search engine performs a fuzzy search on the "Models" and "ODM Models" fields with your query and returns all available results. The "Models" field lists each laptop shown in a print ad. In many of these cases though, the laptop shown in an advertisement is a rebadged generic laptop from an "ODM" (Original Design Manufacturer). In these cases, the model shown in the ad is still listed, but the original ODM model of each laptop is also listed in the ODM Models field. This allows you to easily search for all print ads that show one of these generic laptops. If there is a dedicated page for a laptop on MacDat, it is linked.
